Our regular meeting schedule is set for the FIRST Thursday of each month with meetings to be held at Allegro House 4501 W Shannon Lakes Dr., Tallahassee, FL 32309. Meeting starts at 6:30 pm.

TALLAHASSEE’S AMVETS POST 1776 SPONSORED ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL GOLF TOURNAMENT AT GOLDEN EAGLE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB SEPTEMBER 16, 2019.

Location: Veterans Helping Veterans Golf Tournament at the Golden Eagle Country Golf and Club
On Monday, September 16, 2019 AMVETS Post 1776 sponsored their Annual Golf Tournament at Golden Eagle Golf and Country Club with the theme, “Veterans Helping Veterans.” Over 24 teams played for 1st and 2nd place trophies. There were over 30 sponsors advertising on the golf fairways with raffles and a luncheon provided for all teams. It was a beautiful day for golfing and a good time was had by all. Monies raised by our tournament will be used to support our Post’s Bell Tower and Carillon Project at the Tallahassee National Cemetery, as well as other veteran initiatives/programs here in the Big Bend area.

Thursday, November 7th, 11 AM - Homes for Our Troops – SPC Derek Taylor Welcome Home Celebration. Due to parking limitations at the house park in the Target parking lot, 2120 Apalachee Parkway. A shuttle will be in service 0930-1330 Hrs. to take attendees to the house. Plan on arriving early. See attachment for more details.

All Veterans and active duty military personnel can get a free meal on Veteran’s Day Monday, November 11, 2019, at all participating Chili’s Grill and Bar restaurants. Please call ahead to your local Chili’s restaurant if you have any questions about your Veteran’s Day meals. November 12th
Come join our Second Tuesday luncheon group at the McMillan National Guard Armory, Tuesday, November 12 th.. We’ll begin serving at 12 Noon. Former Guardsman Harry Arnold and his staff from Executive Office Furniture (EOF) are sponsoring a seafood dinner prepared by Shell Oyster Bar. We certainly appreciate the fact that Harry and his crew have sponsored our November luncheon for many years. Attendees have a great treat Tuesday! 

If you have used eyeglasses or hearing aids you no longer need please bring them to the luncheon and give to the undersigned. We’ll get them to the Tallahassee Lions Club to be recycled and give them to those who are less fortunate.

The Tallahassee Elks lodge is collecting coats for needy veterans (both men and women). If you have coats in serviceable condition and would like to donate to a needy vet bring them Tuesday. We’ll get them to the Elks in order for the coats to be distribute to needy veterans.
